Thermo alder is alder wood that has undergone thermal modification at high temperatures without the use of chemical additives. As a result, the wood gains a more stable structure, reduced moisture absorption, and a deep, rich tone.
Thermo alder combines the natural texture of alder with enhanced resistance to temperature and humidity fluctuations, making it a popular choice for modern sauna interiors.
The treatment is performed at temperatures up to 200–220 °C in a low-oxygen environment. As a result:
